Refreshing Like Cold Water
Blog by Solé Amari | June 7, 2025
“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” — Proverbs 25:25
This morning, I rose with a renewed thankfulness in my heart—thankful for grace, for wisdom, and for the power to choose conviction over shame. The Lord reminded me that I don’t have to replay the guilt of yesterday. I get to walk boldly in His strength today.
Today marks the first day of my premarital counseling journey with David. And honestly? I feel seen. I feel aligned. I feel covered. God didn’t just confirm this step—He whispered it through Scripture, His Spirit, and a peace that surpasses my past.
There’s a quiet power in knowing you’re walking in God’s will—even if you’ve wrestled your way there. I don’t want to dishonor Him again by going back to what He pulled me from. I want to move forward with clarity, conviction, and commitment. Not just to a man—but to obedience.
So here I am. Eyes fixed, heart postured, spirit yielded. Thank you, Lord, for your refreshing presence—like cold water to a soul that’s been in the fire.
Let this be a reminder: You don’t have to carry shame into a season God has called clean. Drop it. Drink deep. And proceed with grace.

Reflection Prompt:
Where is God calling you to proceed without shame today? Write it down. Give it to Him. Then take the next step forward in peace.
