When Discernment Disrupts the Room

ree

Have you ever felt unsettled in a spiritual space others celebrate? What did your spirit catch that your mouth was afraid to speak?

There’s a sacred tension that comes when God sharpens your discernment. You don’t ask for it—but once it arrives, it sees what your eyes can’t unsee. The same room that once brought you joy now feels spiritually noisy. The same voices that stirred your soul now seem… off. Unsettled. Out of order.

And it’s not judgment. It’s not pride.

It’s clarity.

Discernment doesn’t just show up to protect you from the obvious. Sometimes, it whispers in rooms filled with hallelujahs and handshakes. It alerts you, not to tear down—but to guard your gate. To remain surrendered, even when others are celebrated for surface. To stay covered, even when those covering others seem uncovered themselves.

I’ve sat in rooms where the worship was real, but the atmosphere was still off.

I’ve been prayed over by people who spoke in tongues, yet their spirits never stirred mine.

And I’ve watched as the softest voices were silenced, while egos ran free behind pulpits.

But here’s what I’m learning:

Discernment is not the enemy of unity. It’s the defender of truth.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t just comfort—it cautions.

And when He whispers “that’s not Me,” we have a choice:

To stay for familiarity… or to stand for truth.

The Healing Word:

“The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment.”

— 1 Corinthians 2:15

Take This With You:

If your spirit catches it, trust it.

If peace leaves the room, so should you.

And if the presence of God feels distant where His name is loud—stay quiet and let Him reveal.
