When Waiting Is the Will of God

"When Waiting Is the Will of God"

There’s a tension we rarely talk about: the frustration of divine silence—especially when you're ready... and God is not.

We cry out like Habakkuk, “How long, Lord, must I call for help?” (Habakkuk 1:2), wondering if Heaven heard us the first time. And yet, buried in that complaint is the seed of trust. Because only those who still expect God to move keep knocking, keep asking, and keep writing the vision.

In Habakkuk 2:3, the Lord responds:

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

What a paradox: “Though it tarry... it will not tarry.”This is the language of divine tension—a delay that isn’t denial, a pause that still carries promise.

Then we move to John 7, where Jesus is pressed by His brothers to “go public” and prove Himself. But His answer is piercing:

“My time is not yet here; for you, any time will do.” – John 7:6

Let that settle. To the world, any moment seems like the right one—especially when things look ripe. But Kingdom timing is different. Jesus, fully God and fully man, refused to move ahead of divine release.

This tells us something vital:📌 Just because the pressure is loud doesn’t mean the timing is right.📌 Just because the door is open doesn’t mean you’ve been sent to walk through it.📌 Just because you’re ready doesn’t mean God has cleared the runway.

The flesh rushes.The Spirit waits.

And when the appointed time comes? It will speak. Loudly. Clearly. With favor you didn’t have to fight for.

So today, let’s posture ourselves like both Habakkuk and Jesus. Honest in our waiting, but anchored in God's perfect will.

Because waiting is not weakness—it’s warfare disguised as wisdom.

Reflection Question:Have you been trying to rush a release that God still has under lock and seal?

Declaration:“I will not run ahead of God. I trust the appointed time to speak louder than the pressure.”
